20 year old murdered hairdresser Hollie Gazzard, who was knifed to death on Tuesday around 5.50pm, is said to have known her attacker.
Police officers were called to the salon that she worked in after reports of a man attacking a woman in a shop in the city centre of Gloucester.
Ambulances were called to the address, which is known locally as Fringe Benefits & La Bella Beauty salon in Southgate Street, and took miss Gozzard to hospital, where she later died.
Police have arrested a man in is 20’s on suspicion of murder on Wednesday morning and he remains in custody.
The attack has shocked the local residents of the normally quiet and peaceful town, and flowers have been left at the scene, along with letters and notes of condolences. Forensic police are now examining the salon which has been cordoned off.
Hollie had been working as a hairdressers since she was 16 years old and described herself as a ‘very passionate individual who takes pride in her work’ on the companies website.
It has since emerged that whilst ambulance crews were desperately trying to save Hollie’s life, people were outside filming on mobile phones.
The footage hasn’t appeared online as of yet, and police urge anyone who has any recorded video of the incident to refrain from sharing it on social media sites and hand it into police.
Unconfirmed reports that are floating around Facebook and Twitter say that Hollie was stabbed with a pair of scissors in front of work colleagues during a late opening in the salon, and was going through a break-up.
The victims next of kin have been informed along with the coroner according to police. Anyone who witnessed the attack, or saw anything at all is advised to call 101 and ask for incident 340 of Feb 18th.
