Keen on using Flickr, Fantasy Sports, or any other Yahoo service? It’s time to dust off your Yahoo credentials. Yes, the company will require the users to have a Yahoo ID to log in to its services.
Since Yahoo has appointed Marissa Mayer as its CEO in 2012, the company has seen a radical shift in its operations. Yahoo said it was doing this to improve the “user experience”. But the Register says Yahoo! actually wants to do the same thing as its rivals: slurp up more targeted data to satisfy admen by offering services that are neatly tied to identity credentials.

This interesting move is believed to be part of the former Google executive, Mayer’s strategy to get more users on its email service.
Starting with ‘Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick’Em up’, a fantasy college basketball service, it will eventually remove Google and Facebook signups on several other services like Flickr and Fantasy Sports, reports Reuters. The company has not yet given any time-frame on how and when these changes will come into effect.
