Woman Found Dead in a Hotel in Wolverhampton

Amandeep Kaur Hothi, a 29-year-old from Wolverhampton was found dead at The Britannia Hotel in the city.Police were called to the hotel at around 10am on Thursday  and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.The post-mortem report stated that  the woman suffered wounds inflicted by a sharp object.A 41-year-old man from Wolverhampton has been arrested on suspicion of her murder. He was found injured near the scene and was taken to hospital but police have confirmed he has now been arrested.

Police say the man remains in hospital and will be taken into police custody once he is well enough to be questioned.Detective Superintendent Mark Payne, the investigating officer, said a post-mortem was taking place this afternoon to establish how the victim died and they are still trying to understand the circumstances that led up to the murder, with lots of work around CCTV, speaking to other people in the hotel and looking at phone records.West Midlands Police Sarah Astbury said, “Forensic experts are examining the scene and specialist officers are supporting the woman’s family at this difficult time.”

Lewis Wetherley, who works at Panther Crew Electric Tattooing, said, “We opened at 10.30am and there was an ambulance and about four police cars outside the hotel. We heard a few things but it wasn’t until the afternoon that we heard that a woman had died”.Kayleigh Nelson, who works at The Moon Under Water opposite the hotel, said, “There was a rumour that a woman had been stabbed”.
