Chris Pine has been charged with drunk driving following a March 1 arrest at a routine checkpoint in Methven, Canterbury, in New Zealand.
Court documents revealed that the star of the “Star Trek” movies is due in court Monday regarding the case, according to the Associated Press.Reports said that the 33-year-old American was in the country filming ‘Z for Zachariah’ and been out celebrating the end of the shoot the night before he was arrested.
Casey Crawford, Blue Pub Methven manager said around 70 cast and crew members, and local volunteers had hired the nightspot on February 28, with the party getting over around 3am on March 1, the same morning the actor was arrested.
Mr. Crawford told the New Zealand Herald: “Chris Pine arrived here and had his supermodel girlfriend [Iris Bjork Johannesdottir] with him and he spent most of his time with her, she flew in that day someone told me.”
He also said the cast and crew were “subdued” during the evening, and there were designated drivers appointed, so he felt surprised Chris took the decision to drive after getting drunk.
