A CAVE LIFE EXISTING FOR 50,000 YEARS DISCOVERED

These ancient and weird microbes were found dormant in caves in Naica in Mexico.

These microbes can survive on minerals such as iron and manganese.

“These are super life”, said Penelope Boston, the lead of NASA’s astrobiology institution.

This discovery was presented at the conference in Boston of the American Association for the Advancement of science.

There are more than 40 different strains of microbes and even some virus. These life forms are said to so weird and their nearest relatives are still 10% different genetically.

“This makes them as different as humans are from mushrooms”, said Boston.
