Latest Pepsi Ad, Featuring Kendall Jenner, Has People In Uproar And We Can See Why!
Pepsi’s new advert, which the company claims is a “global ad that reflect people from different walks of life coming together,” has sparked uproar on social media.
The ad features Kendall Jenner walking through a group of protesters towards an officer, handing him a can of Pepsi. As he takes a gulp, the protesters cheer with victorious glee.
What?
Many have gone on social media to criticise both Pepsi and Kendall Jenner of using and exploiting protest movements in order to make money.
Though most are angered by Pepsi insensitivity towards various different protest movements, a lot of people are just simply shocked by the advert’s absurdity.
A can of Pepsi solving all problems? Really?
Regardless of the uproar this ad has caused on social media, Pepsi still stands by it, stating to Adweek that, “this is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey.”
Ironically, the advert has actually brought people together though maybe not in a way that Pepsi had hoped for!
