British Woman Found Naked And Drunk Is Arrested For Abandoning Her Two Children
A 30-year-old British woman who was found walking naked and drunk in the street whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria has been arrested by police for abandoning her two young children aged just two and four.
Police in the Canary Islands have said that they found the two youngsters hungry, dirty and alone in an apartment. The mother who left them there is yet to be named.
The incident, which is said to have happened late at night in the popular tourist resort of Mogan, in south-west Gran Canaria has left witnesses shocked, after they saw the naked woman walking along the street outside in a state of drunkenness.
The Civil guards found the woman at home with the front door open, lying drunk and naked on the bed whilst a 20-month-old child was found lying in a crib, crying and with scabby legs and a dirty nappy.
A four-year-old boy was also found in the apartment crying and asking for food. Police said the children looked like they’d been left alone for a number of hours.
Emergency services were called and the children were given food, water and medical treatment due to the state they were in. They are now being cared for by their grandfather.
The mother now faces prosecution for abandonment of children and is due to face trial in court.
