Shocking Moment 2 Yr Old Boy Wanders Into Road While Parents Sit In Pub Drinking
This is the moment witnesses claim a little boy was spotted wandering through traffic while his parents allegedly sat in the pub.
The tot was spotted stumbling into a crossing before wandering around just metres from cars – before a stranger managed to scoop him up to safety.
Leanne Richards caught the disturbing incident unfolding on her car’s dashcam footage taken in Burnley, Lancashire, and said she was terrified that no parent appeared to be in sight.
The 23-year-old community care assistant said: “I’d just finished at a client’s house and was heading home, and as I approached the traffic lights I saw something was wrong as I noticed the little boy running in and out of the road.
“The cars were really close, if anyone had come around the corner he wouldn’t have stood a chance because it’s a busy road.
“Having a child of similar age it really scared me, I just thought his parents would be close behind somewhere but I never saw anyone.
“I was so scared that a car would come round the corner.”
She said the little boy, who appeared to be about two-years-old, looked confused as he wandered around just after 12.45pm on August 21.
Leanne, from Colne, Lancashire, said she had pulled over but was relieved to see a couple had already spotted the boy and were running to help.
She said: “I pulled up at the side of the road and put my hazards on. I was just about to get out of the car I noticed that a couple had stopped further up and were running down towards him.
“When the woman reached him I felt a wave of relief that he was safe and out of the road.”
Leanne says the woman’s partner, who can be seen running up to the crossing behind her as she plucks the child out of the road, shouted over to her that it was a “scary experience”.
And the shocked mum Leanne, who has a 15-month-old daughter with her partner, claims she finds it difficult to believe how the child’s family could have allowed him to come into danger so far from their watch.
Leanne said: “Her partner told me it was a scary experience. “The lady who saved him took him straight back into the pub. I watched her take him into the pub then I set off again.
“I understand how quickly children can wander off, but to get that far? I don’t understand why they hadn’t paid closer attention to him.”
