A 40-year-old man and 34-year-old woman have been charged with murder after the discovery of a badly burned body in a garden.

Ouissem Medouni and Sabrina Kouider, both of Pulborough Road, Wandsworth, are due before magistrates in Wimbledon today.

Police have been unable to tell the age or gender of the deceased person because the remains were so charred.

The body was discovered in the back garden of a house in Southfields, south-west London, on Wednesday afternoon.

However, it has been reported locally that the body may be that of Sophie Lionnet, a nanny from South West France who was working for Ms Quider.

Police discovered the body after being alerted by an eight-year-old boy, according to MailOnline.

Police arrived at 6.30pm on Wednesday at the home in the suburb of Southfields.

Some parents reported a ‘foul-smelling smoke’ coming from a house in Pulborough Road.

Ms Kouider is said to have two children, including one with ex-boyfriend Mark Walton – one of the founders of Boyzone.

A friend of the victim said: ‘She came here to learn English, but found it very difficult here.

‘Sabrina liked her social life and liked going out with her friends. There always seemed to be plenty of money.

‘She has had Sophie, who is from a poor French family, living in her little home for 14 months.’

She added that she was supposed to return home to France on Monday, but never made it back.

A neighbour said: ‘I was walking past on the way home from school and we could see flames through the fence posts.

‘My young son called out, “If you are having a barbecue, are we allowed to come?”.

‘I told him, “no that’s not a barbecue, that’s a bad smell”. I thought they may be burning leaves.’
