Anthony Joshua has called for “fat f***” Tyson Fury to get fit if he wants to secure a fight with the world champion.
Fury is in Monaco this weekend to support former foe Dereck Chisora in his tilt at the European title.
And he wasn’t afraid to show off just how out of condition he is having been out of the ring for two years.
However, Joshua has warned his rival he needs to get in shape before a potential heavyweight mega-fight.
He took to social media on Thursday morning to take a swipe at Fury.
He may be targeting a mega-fight, but Fury is a long way from being fighting fit.
“I’m after a weightlifter, a certain weightlifter who can bench press half a ton and dead lift half a ton,” Fury told iFL TV , referring to Joshua.
“I’ve done it [lose weight] about eight or nine times from being fat like this. For [Wladimir] Klitschko I was 25 stone and now I’m 25 stone. I was 27 but I’ve lost two – I quit drinking for a few days.”
Fury was last seen in the squared circle when he outpointed Klitschko in Germany in 2015 to become the unified world champion.
But a series of setbacks have derailed his career and he remains without a licence pending a drugs hearing.
In his absence fellow Briton Joshua has emerged as the dominant force in boxing’s blue riband division, capturing the WBA and IBF crowns and stopping all 20 of his professional opponents.
