Superfast Range Rover Evoque Launched at Geneva Motor Show
The Geneva Motor Show unveiled a new superfast Range Rover Evoque.
The sportier souped-up version of the vehicle helped propel the parent firm’s profits into the stratosphere. It boasts of delivering a blistering 281 bhp.The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic is the most performance-focused take on the vehicle to date and offers heightened luxury, increased performance and sharper handling. It has an electronically limited top speed of 140mph and will complete the 0-62mph sprint in 6.7 seconds.
A tuned version of the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine found in the existing Evoque, is featured in the new model. The sportier performance owes to a revised chassis and upgraded brakes to maximise driver thrills and its retuned 9-speed ZF automatic transmission. Another feature is a world-first in the shape of Land Rover InControlTM Apps, enabling smartphone apps to be displayed and controlled with their original look and feel from the vehicle’s touchscreen.
Owners need to simply connect their smartphone through a USB port to enable compatible iPhone or Android apps to function. Murray Dietsch, director of Land Rover programmes, said: “When the Range Rover Evoque was launched, it brought a unique blend of innovative exterior and interior design and exceptional on- and off-road capability to the market. It created the premium compact SUV.”
